I suspect there will be many more overtures to him, all part of a plan to make Biden look weak to the American people. The world leaders know what's really happening.

Kinda where I was going, they provided Biden what was needed to call the bluff but remember probably 80-90% of people here in US think Ukraine good, Putin bad. So, by calling the bluff it puts pressure on Biden to do SOMETHING, which he cannot because he is not in control, the Military is.
