Every time I watch the walls close in on one of the elites they always manage to reveal a trap door mechanism to get them out of trouble. The number of them is infinite and they can appear anywhere in any form. It can even be obvious but it doesn't matter because they control the talking heads on TV that repeat a lie until it's believed.
