We are setting ourselves up for rolling blackouts, or the collapse of the electric grid if this transition to EVs is done too quickly. Also, the sticker shock people will feel to truly build out the system to handle this additional load will far outpace what people are going to be willing to pay… but by then it’ll already be too late to go back.
