The nazification of Europe is in full swing – or, rather, there is nothing new under the sun, as the masks are off. No, no, racism and xenophobia are not tolerated in modern Europe; some of it is even a criminal offense there – except when it is directed at Russians.
People get beat up on the street for speaking Russian. People lose jobs for being Russian. Students get expelled from universities for being from Russia. Children get bullied at schools because their parents are Russian. Some restaurants deny service to Russians. A German clinic announced it will deny treatment to people with Russian and Belorussian passports. Books by Dostoyevsky and Chekhov, music by Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich get banned, etc. etc., etc. Today Russians in Europe are like Jews in the Nazi Germany in 1930’s.
It’s a chance not to be missed to find unity around the idea of hatred, as the idea of European unity around peace, reconciliation and democracy (for which the EU got the Nobel Peace Prize) has not been working.
That Europe is getting united around racism/nazism is a small surprise. Five hundred years of colonialism did not go without a trace. Colonialist/racist Europe never had a problem with nazism; for a short period of time in the 20th century, when it was occupied by Germany, it only had a problem with Hitler.
It is no different today. Leopold II, who killed about 10 million in Kongo, is commemorated in monuments all over Belgium. Open racist Churchill, who starved to death millions in Bengal, is voted the greatest Briton of all time. There are annual marches of Waffen-SS veterans and their fans in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Ukraine that has become a hotbed of nazism is “in good company” there.
Consequently, Western leaders threatening Russia with “The Hague” probably realize that, with Russia declaring denazification as one of its goals in Ukraine, Europe may in fact be heading toward another Nuremburg.
no disagreement about make up of the KPD. but you said "Jewish-Germans" which I understood to mean the general population, the vast majority of which were not involved in politics, parties, or movements.
your analysis of the precipitating factors, scope and scale lack a wider context.
you have only to consider, to name a few, the mass slaughter in Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Croatia -- ethnic Serbs targeted, as other non jewish groups throughout these campaigns. most of the death is not in concentration camps, and no trials were conducted or evidence sought to prove support for communism as justification.
how is it that the bolsheviks inspired a "holy" war, among jews or other sympathizers, when the center of their ideology is wholly atheistic and godless?
I've really never heard before that the Jews 'declared a global holy war', but if they did, why only on German Christians? and did that cover Catholics or Protestants? and how did they deal with the Jews who converted to Christianity?
the Pope sought to preserve Catholics to the detriment of Protestants, Orthodox Christians, and Jews. Jews who converted when there were rumblings of Jews getting expelled from countries, had to be baptized before 1933, or their conversion wasn't recognized.
I think you're overestimating the Jewish component of the KDP. the KDP got 16% of the vote, and Jews are less than 1% of the population. and of that 1% a notable portion are not 'working class' but bankers, merchants, in arts or sciences -- they're looking to be on top of the economic ladder, not level it out.
if you're looking for a theory as to why the Nazis expelled the Jews, the last 5 years should be very instructive. half our population has been turned into fascists who would like to expel or kill anyone who disagrees with them. are we communist collaborators? nazis? or any of the -ist words we are accused of? you see, it doesn't have to have a reason. masses of people can be mind-controlled and do the bidding of the invisible elite pulling the strings.
never claimed to be an expert on WW2. the radio broadcast is famous, but you're the first person I've heard consider that a declaration for a global holy war on German Christians. clearly, he calls for a boycott of German products and business, makes it as significant as a holy war, not equivalent, and not against German "Christians."
and this is supposed to be what started it? you do know the laws and changes Hitler made in the entire year prior to that radio broadcast, right? 12 months of pretty radical fascist authoritarianism preceded that call to action.
"the Nazis didn't expel the Jews." that's hilarious. I can't help you.
