For lack of a better term, I think calling people like this "Lizard People" would best describe their fanaticism.
While the idea of lizard aliens is just way off the reservation for me, I have become convinced that this kind of commitment to what is obviously wrong is not human behavior.
I am not "othering" people, I am very positive that these are not just oblivious ignorant humans behaving stupidly. This is too much fervor in their convictions.
