Can someone please explain to me why the NYT confirmation is such a big deal?

Like, why does that trump intelligence agencies?

Are media outlets really the gatekeepsers of truth?

All those news stations basically "confirmed" the Russian collusion hoax, why does that make it any more credible than it isn't?
