Not that I disagree, but this video stunk of scripted acting the first time it was posted, or at minimum-a cringeworthy example of trying too hard to prove a point.
Agreed. I don't blame the Russians (assuming this was their production) for trying, but they need some western advisors if this is intended for consumption by citizens in the west in order to overcome the fake news. The quality of this video just adds fuel to the fire of finger-pointing claims that "the other side is spreading lies."
They should start by spreading Anne-Laure Bonnel's "Donbas" which documents the fratricide that's taken place in east Ukraine for eight years. The civil war (Kiev bombing the east) is an indisputable fact. Lay down that fact and then lay actual footage of soldiers rescuing civis.
I'm not a fan of manufacturing consent with scripted performances. "Production" has to be minimized.

I read the title as "fleeing" and immediately thought this was fake news out of hand. Will give a watch.
A better choice of word would be using "liberating" rather than "freeing", less misread while maintaining the same meaning.
I dunno. Im so skeptic of super kind strangers. If that was me id decline their generosity. Ever read the book Night? In that book the nazis were telling the jews about the care they will be given. The book was written by a first hand experience of being a jew in the nazi war. Im hoping the soldier is telling the truth and i am very greatful im not in that family's shoes to even have to make that choice.
