I cant be the only one thinking the will smith slap is just a publicity stunt to get people talking about the oscars more due to previous poor ratings right?

Don't think so. 1/....Smith is up for (and wins) Best Male Actor. 2/...Smith has cultivated a reputation in Hollywood, and world wide, and it's not a bad reputation. 3/...Jada was visibly upset. The 2022 Oscars is forever going to be the night that Smith bitch slapped Rock, NOT the night that Will Smith won the Best Male Performance Oscar. Everyone remembers Ricky Gervais's comments that night, no one remembers who won what.
