It’s just a distraction

All politics is downstream of culture. We can't just ignore culture in a culture war. We're trying to save our way of life, after all. This needs to be talked about, though, perhaps for different reasons than the obvious.
It's not about the slap. 200 years ago, they would've dueled with crossed swords at done over fair maid's honor and we'd have thought nothing of it.
The issue is the breakdown of the family that precipitated all of the deep-seated anger that expressed itself in that momentary loss of control.
I think it's clear Will loves Jada and the kids, but he's unhappy with the arrangement in which he has so little power. It's totally dysfunctional, but he goes along out of love and because Hollywood's whackjobs applaud it.
But ultimately, this is a toxic abuse of the nuclear family. We need to talk about this because it's a terrible way to live. It's toxic to everyone involved. Husband and wife don't share decision-making. They're not equals in the parenting. One dominates the other and the other resents it. The kids are not being raised right. The masculine influence is not present in their lives because Will lets himself be commanded and doesn't assert himself. The kids grow up feminized. And then, at the worst possible moments, Will acts out. And the worst part is that he was laughing at the joke until Jada gave him a look, and gave him permission to be a man, and he took it out in the worst possible way. You could see all of that anger and pain on his face while he was screaming at Chris Rock and demanding to be respected as a man. He still couldn't demand it from Jada, so he demanded it of someone else. We should be fighting this.
BS the whole world is a stage.
Numerous photos show the very odd peculiar way Chris squints and leans into it bracing himself for the slap.
That slap to the eye, like Taylor Hawkings dying in the most well known month for the occult and rituals, was them mocking us.
A slap in the face to anyone w critical thinking skills who can see the whole thing is staged.
Cmon the whole crying thing, the way snapchat and social media pushed those pictures and interviews about Tupac, it’s all an act.
I was half expecting Uncle Phil to rise from the dead and tackle Will w a bear hug on stage as they both broke down and Phil proclaims “IM YO DADDY NOW WILL”
How the fuck is "leaning into it", considered "bracing for the slap"? The guy would be leaning AWAY from it if he were truly bracing for the slap.
And if you believe this is staged, you are simultaneously stating that you believe that black men even at the highest levels of society, will "jump", whenever their white masters tell them to jump.
Even if it means completely tainting their character and voiding ALL the work the black community has done in hopes of demonstrating that they are not the hyper-aggressive, uncivilized, short tempered, simple minded, low-IQ hooligans that society has thought them to be for so long.
At first I was completely convinced this whole incident HAD to be staged too. But the more I listened to the various viewpoints from different people, and the more I learned about the context of what happened and the history of their unstable marriage, the more I was convinced this was in fact an unplanned, manifestation of Will's anger at his having been emasculated in public for so long, and never being able to do anything about it.
Earlier in the show, another woman was up on stage doing a little routine involving "testing", 4 other single men chosen up there to see who was the best fit for a future boyfriend for her.
And that woman cracked a joke at Will and his wife by claiming that Will was on her list too and that Jada signed off saying it was okay. A dig at their unusual, open marriage, of which they appeared to laugh off.
Leans into the slap because he was waiting to be slapped
That makes no sense. If you are meaning the posture of his whole body and not just his head, he could have just as well been "leaning", towards Will, because he absolutely did NOT expect to be slapped.
Also, he made an apology after receiving his award. And he apologized to everyone EXCEPT Chris Rock. But then, by the next day, Will issued a public statement on social media in which he DID apologize to Chris Rock.
This reminds me of what Travis Scott did at the concert that lead to half a dozen people dying. He didn't seem apologetic at all while it was happening, but by the next day he issued a statement and video on social media pretending to be distraught as if he didn't mean for any of it to happen.
So I think in both instances, they meant to do what they did, but later were advised by their PR agents to feign remorse and give an apology.
