Not just the scandals - Iger overextended Disney's finances gobbling up every IP he could. They're thisclose to collapsing financially unless they manage to turn the ship around (doubt it).
Yeah they gave control to people who hated the fans and hated the source material. They thought they could put out anything with a star wars brand would sell so why bother listening to the fans? They hate them anyway!
Same thing they did with Ghostbusters (the awful women one that I couldn't even watch the ads for it.)
21st Century FOX was a spin-off from Newscorp and was still owned by Rupert Murdoch. He spun off the company so he could sell it, no doubt.
Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc., doing business as 21st Century Fox (21CF), was an American multinational mass media corporation that was based in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It was one of the two companies formed on June 28, 2013 following a spin-off of the publishing assets of the old News Corporation, as founded by Rupert Murdoch in 1980.
I doubt they will last much longer given the scandals plaguing them

I sure as hell will not be funding it.
Yeah. He basically bought most of (FOX)Newscorp's biggest IPs
He put Disney in this financial hole and can't seem to dig his way out of it
They're losing money on a lot of IPs, but I truly think that their mismanagement of Lucasfilm will be discussed in future business and PR courses.

They did not buy Fox News or anything from Newscorp. They bought from 21st Century Fox. Entirely different entity.

It was a subsidary of NewsCorp before Disney bought it
