Neither have I, I was gifted a nice one but have never activated it.
People ask all the time how I can do without one, easy, you don't miss what you never had. I had to really laugh at the guy helping me put in a new, smart, air conditioner. He was trying to tell me I needed to get the app on my phone to run it. I went over and manually set up everything I needed on the unit itself. I also showed him I have a remote control. He seemed to think it would be better if I got a phone.
The only reason I have one is because someone foisted it on me. The first one I had held a charge for forever. The new one that's 4G only lasts a day and it's dead -- and that's considering the fact that I had all of the functions turned off that I possibly could. It makes you wonder, then, why it dies in a day. How badly are they spying on us? I never turn it on unless I'm going to use it, which is very, very rarely. I initially had $200 worth of minutes on it -- and that was from years ago. I've never had to top it off, so it only costs me $10/year to maintain the minutes I already have. Kek!
Naturally, Verizon, AT&T & T-Mobile are taking away the 2 & 3G bands so that people will be "forced" to use smartphones if they want cell phone service.....T-Mobile to a lesser extent so far.
Why do people think this helps anything? Do you believe your location SMS and phone records can't be tracked with a dumb phone?
You are just denying yourself mobile data.
If you are trying to hide from the government, you can't, not really.
If you are trying to hide your data from big tech, you aremuch better getting a s,art phone and degoogling it, with lineage os or similar and using free open source apps, like tox messenger, true end to end encrypted. It's possible it may even protect your data from government eyes.
Getting a dumb phone is fine, but it depends on what you are intending to accomplish by getting one....
Who knew I was ahead of the curve on this one? I've never owned a smartphone.

Me Either. Haven't ever had one, sometimes just want to be left alone.

Good for you!, that's the right way to use a 'smart phone!'
I have always had a dumb phone until a month ago I finally had to get a "smart" phone for a new job.
Love his shirt, says Pfuckoff

This. Are people actually switching from smartphones or are they just replacing their obsolete dumbphone with a new 4g dumbphone?
Unpopular opinion:
