Currently I am recovering from spinal fusion back surgery which was March 18th. I am trying like crazy to follow Dr restrictions on what I should and should not be doing. Lifting no more than fifteen pounds, is difficult as I want to hold my grandbabies but have been following, bending however is proving very difficult. How do you retrain a 53 yr old brain to suddenly Not do things you have done your entire life? I have been warned that this is my final stop before a wheelchair which is a terrifying thought. Please pray for me, still quite a bit if pain but am improving quickly and nearly off the painkillers and back to my CBD and Ibuprofen 800mg and muscle relaxer only. Desperately wanting to quickly eliminate anything potentially addicting.

Dear Fren, I am glad your pain killer use is going South. Sounds encouraging. Regarding your move restrictions, have you looked for spinal orthoses?

Maybe an occupational therapist could help?
I will keep praying for your better being, Fren.🙏🏻
I am using a back brace iften and will be starting physical therapy again soon.
Excellent: physical therapy will help strengthening the right muscles. Be well, Fren.
Good luck with the rehab. Had to go through it myself to rebuild an entire leg and all of the gym rats I've known immediately earned a bunch of my respect lol.
Spent three years from 2006-08 in ohysical therapy from same injury
Thank you
