I was born in 1954 in L.A. Going to Disneyland in Anaheim was a truly magical time. We didn’t go much as we were not financially able to but the few times were absolutely beautiful and amazing! We got the small ticket book with only 1 “E” ticket and saved it for The Matterhorn! My dad always made us leave early to avoid traffic on the hour long ride in LA freeways that really wasn’t that bad in 1960. We did get a Mickey hat with ears once and a Davy Crocket pop gun. My brother and I had an 8 yr younger brother so that is the only reason we actually got more than 1 trip to Disneyland. Mom had her last baby to spoil. My memories of Disneyland & Disney movies are a little ambivalent as I loved the fun of going but it was always to take my brother, not because I wanted to go. But years of babysitting, watching movies with grandkids and reading have opened my eyes to see what at 10-11 yrs old was much more than just colorful, musical long cartoons. So sad to think my grandkids are being bombarded with such filth. I just hope it never hits a nerve with what they are seeing!!!
