What's weird about it? How long have you been watching this area? I got caught up in plane-watching once, then I realized that I'd need years of history to be able to really determine what was unusual or not. There is a lot of plane activity going on we are normally completely unaware of.
Daily. My kid lives there, so it always catches my attention.
At first New Orleans freaked me out until I learned of a helicopter traing area
You answered my second question but not my first, which I assumed you felt was the more important part.
Oh, 2 planes coming from the west, helo from the north, anothercirclund and a bombardier? circling.
Another small mil 2 prop was circling as well.
That's all
Some planes have dropped off...
I live in eastern TN, not far from Knoxville. Oak Ridge is about an hour from Chattanooga, and Y12 is still operational but they’re very secretive about what their operations are.
The entire town of Oak Ridge was basically founded in secret and in a hurry for the Manhattan Project. It’s where they built the first atomic bombs. What Y12 could be working on in today’s times is a mystery to me.
That’s the only thing strange I can see about the location
It might help if you told us what types of aircraft and tail numbers. Also, are those just military aircraft or a mix?
I just checked https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ and there are no military aircraft showing within hundreds of miles of Chattanooga, but there are tons of commercial aircraft there and all over the US. Chattanooga probably has a commercial airport, and Cleveland to the east has a small airport.
