Perhaps hunter is a turncoat white hat and tucker had a role in converting him, it's still highly plausible that hunter leaked his laptop on purpose.

Very possible, or an undercover prostitute snatched it. From his email, he left a hooker a lone for days on end at his home until she stole his car. His life sound like an absolute shit show.
