Am a LC in hospital We are not to give extra formula to homegoing patients due to shortages; prior to this “shortage” there was a recall on similac formula. Now the most concerning part of this IS (in my location), most of our labor patients are obese, hypertensive, diabetic and generally unhealthy, from long term lifestyle behavior (society has built in as normal) and so these mom’s have a difficult time with exclusive breastfeeding therefore requiring formula and you see the long term plan that has been rolled out and that has taken its toll... I have no words... (I’m not saying all mothers-to-be are unhealthy, but sadly, it is much more significant than in the past)

Thanks for posting this. My son and DIL have their 2nd child coming in July. They already know how to prep, but this was a good reminder.
There has to be a way to make your own baby formula substitute.
Docs encouraged formula in the 1950s and too many women went along with the suggestion . . . Docs gave bad advice.
Go to the Weston A Price Foundation.org and look for their recipe for substitute breast milk.
Saw this report the other day..sad and scary..things will get worse...stay strong fren.
