I absolutely hated Abbott when he was Prime Minister.

He was the arch-conservative type and I was still a liberal back then.

I don't know what to make of him now, but I get the sense that he was trying his best against a massive machine that was against him.

He wasn't very competent, but perhaps he meant well. I just don't know any more.
