I rejoined FB after 6 years of separation. My marketing person is insistent that it is a primary advertising source here in rural USA. She's not wrong. But within 3 days, my account was suspended for violating community guidelines.
What did I do? I deleted my birthday because it appeared to be public and I didn't want to fuss with looking for the correct buttons to hide it. Here's where I draw the line: to get back on, I must provide a photo to prove it's me, EVEN THO THEY DON'T HAVE A PICTURE OF ME under that name. It is my married name and I opted to do an account without any personal info.
Tell me you're not implementing a data collection system without telling me you're implementing a data collection system.
Automated? not buying it.
Don't set up an account under your real name, period.
You set up your profile to be whatever you want, nickname, doesn't matter. You have to use a facebook business page for your advertising so you'll put the real info there anyway.
yea, i think at this point, we are done with them for good. Spouse is of the opinion that ppl will learn about our business without fb. truth is, gab is growing a marketplace and once truth social settles, they will offer the same.
I so loathe fb. the business will have his name and the name of the business in any advertising materials.
yea, who knows, maybe they tapped into my google and youtube history-- the real reason my account was disabled-?
I tried to do that and was entirely unable to create a functional account. My boss was insisting I get one and I told him the only way I would is if it was all bullshit info, I was unable to finalize creating the account and sign in without submitting a photo of me to them. Idk what else would be beyond that, but I just said fuck it and never made one.
