The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.” - Nikola Tesla
Tesla was a scientist, and not a fool.
He never said anything like this, and tripe like this is completely contradicted by his life's work as well as the actual statements he made as a practicing scientist.
I suppose it is possible he said something this ridiculously stupid, unscientific/antiscientific, and untrue like this in the far later years of his life - once he had lost his marbles and/or been poisoned - but never while he was a competent and fruitful scientist.
Do you have a source for this "quote" you think he said?
Just his work with ETHER alone proves this statement.
This is a common misunderstanding. Tesla describes aether explicitly as a superfine gaseous fluid. It is 100% physical, tangible, and real in every sense.
I suppose I am. That's what we do in science. Observable things are real because we can observe them. That is the origin and definition of all scientific law.
There's plenty of real but unobservable things
Even if that is true, before they are observed (or inferred from observation that can be made) they cannot be and are not science.
Tesla was a hardcore experimentalist. A rational positivist before the term existed. Aether was a real physical media which could be measured, manipulated, and inferred from actual observation. Tesla states this unequivocally and without ambiguity. He was not a mystic, or a metaphysicist - he was a physicist!
I do! Especially if tesla said it (which it seems he didn't, and you don't care - which is of course your prerogative to do)
If you are looking for a reason not to believe, you will find it.
I agree, and the opposite - looking for a reason to believe it is equally trivial. However, I work hard to excise belief from where it does not belong, like knowledge - especially scientific.
What I am looking for is evidence that tesla said this! Do you have anything like that? Or did you simply misattribute this quote to him in error?
