The good ol boy club. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. No outsiders needed or wanted. Dems or Republicans..2 sides of same coin. IMHO, outsiders are the ones we MUST vote for everywhere, in every state. People who have never been in office and are fully behind passing term limits legislation. I want to back people who have no interest in spending more than 6-8 years in DC. Go there, serve their country and faithfully serve their constituents, not themselves. The people who I want to see running hate lobbyists and will accept no gifts, gratuities, honorariums, tickets to the theatre, sporting events, trips, etc. They will be totally transparent about their finances and agree to be independently audited every year. If they have special talents, knowledge or skill they should serve on the appropriate oversight committees.

Corruption cuts across all parties and the swamp has been adept at telling the fresh faces for many years how things work. Now I want the newbies to tell the lifers how things will be different. No more Mitch McConnells putting their arm around your shoulder with that pouchy face flush with bourbin. No more old boy networks.
