The following is a poem by John Newton(Amazing Grace) that he had put on his gravestone. It was never a song until recently the Chorus was added https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyumcWLZDjc
I saw one hanging on a tree
In agony and blood
Who fixed His loving eyes on me
As near His cross I stood
And never till my dying breath
Will I forget that look
It seemed to charge me with His death
Though not a word He spoke
My conscience felt and owned the guilt
And plunged me in despair
I saw my sins His blood had spilt
And helped to nail Him there
But with a second look He said
"I freely all forgive
This blood is for your ransom paid
I died that you might live"
Forever etched upon my mind
Is the look of Him who died
The Lamb I crucified
And now my life will sing the praise
Of pure atoning grace
That looked on me and gladly took my place
Thus while His death my sin displays
For all the world to view
Such is the mystery of grace
It seals my pardon too
With pleasing grief and mournful joy
My spirit now is filled
That I should such a life destroy
Yet live by Him I killed
Forever etched upon my mind
Is the look of Him who died
The Lamb I crucified
And now my life will sing the praise
Of pure atoning grace
That looked on me and gladly took my place
Forever etched upon my mind
Is the look of Him who died
The Lamb I crucified
And now my life will sing the praise
Of pure atoning grace
That looked on me and gladly took my place
You wouldn't take offense to my simple fact stating if you did study them, you idiot lmao. You got offended cause you're a fucking psycho. Now stfu already.
Who made the whole if creation? What will happen to you when you die?
God. In his omnipotence and boundless ability to do anything He wants. He will judge me based on my deeds. Just like what Christians believed prior to the Roman Empire stepped in and corrupted everything.
I certainly don't want God to judge me based on "my" deeds.
-I've lied -makes me a liar
-I've cheated - makes me a cheater
-I've stolen - makes me a thief
-I've haven't always represented correctly who God is - makes me blasphemer
-I've hated - makes me a murder
-I've lusted - makes me an adulterer
Since God is Holy He cannot tolerate what I bring to the table since my deed are corrupted by being born into a world where Satan temps and we sin. Any wrong deed breaks the law of God. If you believe God is a just God then He cannot accept me based on my deeds. God could have used any method to reconcile us to Him but chose to use a method that was simple enough for anyone to understand and respond to. I also think it is interesting that in essence He has trolled Satan with providing a way for us to have a relationship with Him without dying.
I don't follow the Catholic faith but follow Jesus which simply translates (Savior or Liberator) The Christ and Messiah means (Chosen One) and God providing a sacrifice, as foretold by the prophets and symbolized by the law to show that a sacrifice of death was required because our deeds are not enough.
The new covenant that the Liberator, who was prophesied that would come, brought was even more accessible than the old covenant under Abrahamic law. Through Him, the Liberator, the whole world was blessed and could inherit the access to God that those who were descendants of Abraham, or joined the nation of Israel, enjoyed.
Repentance of the our deeds is required. If we rely on our standard of good and evil we deny God's standard and make ourselves to be our own god in His rightful place.
