Horsey paste not just for horses anymore! NH and TN going OTC!
Stuck in stasi west australia. Cant get pills but got horse paste. Anyone know how to use equimec paste as a propholactic for humans?
Not sure this will help as I use Durvet brand, which is more of a gel. But if it has a weight chart on the packaging just convert the dosage to your weight, and adjust amount. It's difficult to get exactly right, but close enough. Also if it comes in a large syringe, empty the syringe into a small container and stir. From what I recall the Durvet dosage of the syringe is for a horse that weighs approximately 1200 pounds.
Thankyou so much for responding. My gut was to use a weight for dose ratio and you have confirmed it . i bet the elites look after their prize horses more than they do us .All good xx
You're welcome! You are correct about the elites and their million dollar horses. We have to look after ourselves, and each other. Someone here recommended mixing the gel, or paste, to make sure the ivermectin is evenly distributed and it makes sense since one syringe is one dose for a horse.
they say the dose for people and horses is the same on a pound to pound comparison. So just adjust the plunger to your approximate weight and your good to go.
True, but since it's in a one dose syringe made for horses, it's a good idea, IMO to put it in a small container and give it a good mix. Just to ensure the ivermectin and gel are mixed well. I also like to do that because it makes measuring it out per dose easier.
