Went to check for the millionth time if I could get in, looks like finally something is happening, and they want to verify with my phone number. I know the world probably knows everything about me anyway, but this chafes. I’m curious to know what you all think about this.

The numbers can be researched to see they if they belong to a block of phone numbers leased/owned by google by TPTB as this is a known workaround for getting codes in sms texts without giving a real number in the first place.
As long as it took some for GAW users to get access to TS, one can bet TS admins know these tricks too.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, what a great way to set up a botnet on Twatter and influence and/or shape public opinion or some narrative they are pushing especially if its government infrastructure Twatter covertly uses unknown to American taxpayers like that has been hinted at since Musk invested in Twitter then wanting to buy out and they stopped it using some financial corporate strategy called a poison pill.
