The analogy here is Musk represents some element of the plan that would seek to free Twitter. They are the more powerful shareholder group in this situation. The ceo is the board of Twitter. The barbarians at the gates are the shareholders that will gut the corporation if they don't cede to the more powerful attempted owner.
Side note: Elon named the 3 companies that would merge or aquire Twitter are "X Holdings I, II, III. "
Anyway I'm pretty sure based on the article and what I know of the plan. If this is that part of the plan we are approaching the precipous!
