You haven't met any of the Jamaican Posses or the Haitian Voodoo Priests then, because that's all they're about. Arrogant machismo. Same with the Puerto Ricans and Cubans who practice Santa Maria. I grew up in Miami during the 70's and 80's. After the Mariel Boat Lifts, that's all there was. Arrogant, petulant, asshole Cubans, Ricans, Jamaicans, Haitians, and Dominicans. Most of the good ones kept moving North into Central/North FL. I literally grew up fighting everyday after 1982. Every. Fucking. Day. Had to learn Spanish and Patois just to stay alive down there. Didn't help that I tan dark AF and have black hair, also. Americans would look at me with disdain until I'd ask what their problem was. Then it was all apologies from them. And that was in a moderately middle class neighborhood off of Bird Road, in between the Turnpike and I-95. But it was still a shit area after about '85.
