Serious question: If this gets signed into law, it's just for show, right? Since the feds say you have to be 21 to have a handgun?
I'm really curious about this because when my daughter turned 18 I took her to buy her first rifle. She bought one chambered in 9mm (NICS went through in hours). But when she went to buy ammo they wouldn't sell it to her b/c she wasn't 21 so the clerk turned to me and said, "You're buying this ammo, right mom?" So I clearly don't understand the existing crazy gun laws! Thanks.
I would say its not for show but based on the 10th amendment of the US Constitution as well as the 2nd.
Bill Summary: "Firearms and** Ammunition** - As introduced, lowers the age requirement to obtain an enhanced or concealed handgun carry permit or lawfully carry a handgun in public from 21 to 18 years of age; states that the statutory authorization to transport or store a firearm or firearm ammunition in a motor vehicle under certain circumstances does not apply to a person under 21 years of age in a parking area that is owned, operated, or while in use by any school, unless the person is at least 18 years of age and meets certain military qualifications. - Amends TCA Title 39."
I hope if it gets signed into law that the TN government will stand fast against the feds and defend their citizens.
