This is why they're trying to make the change to "birthing person." Take away the word mother and you're taking away the implied loving relationship between mother and child. A mother's love is often used as a sort of bench mark. Heck, even insults like "a face only a mother could love," can hit on the fact that mother's have an incredible reservoir of love which they dole out on their children (and families and friends to a somewhat lesser extent.)
These freaks are doing more than just trying to establish "neutral" terms, they're eating at the very foundations of our society. Even now that masks are a rarity, I've still noticed that society has yet to bounce back from the masking fiasco. Less smiles, less people willing to hold open doors, more people giving me weird looks for holding open doors. These things matter far more than we realize. Keep up the good work, fellow pedes and frens, we are the awakening.
