IMO --- everyone is overthinking things.

These shortages are to jack the price up (or wait for it to happen).

When you have a massive influx of new money --- you're gonna have inflation.

The first industries to jack their prices up win (their cost basis will be on the old price).

Why should a company be in a hurry to buy at higher prices when they can milk profit out of the existing stock/contracts......

When the new inflated retail prices get high enough to be profitable they will re-stock.
