I'm from the Philippines and let me share some takeaways.
For context Marcos Jr.'s main rival in this election and the last 2016, the lady in pink, a widow of a cabinet secretary of Noynoy Aquino, was virtually unknown prior to the 2016 national election, but immediately became "darling of the press", you can only hear good words for her from our media.
Also in 2016, the night of election day when the counting started, Marcos was leading with a commanding lead of 1m+ votes. But a glitched happened at midnight, according to a rep. from smartmatic and the counting has to be stopped.
Few hours later, after fixing the glitch, the counting resumed, and his lead started to shrink hour by hour, and by the morning the lady in pink was leading and eventually won. Sounds familiar? The funny thing is, some votes from the other VP candidates was reduced and transferred to her, caught on video, but our media quickly stated that it was an error on their part.
Back to present, since Nov. 2021, Marcos was leading on all major survey firms, be it in known anti-Marcos firm or commissioned by the allies of his rivals. He has a 53-60% voter preference compared to his closest rival, the pink lady, who has 18-25%.
Here are the reasons why I THINK (hopefully) we made the right choice:
-The pink lady's one major supporters are the priests, bishops, basically the whole catholic church, it's unprecedented that they openly endorsed a candidate now.
-Our mainstream media along with the priests are seething because of the result, the "veil of neutrality" is now gone, it's so obvious now who are they working/rooting for.
-The pink lady is also backed by the left, 98% of our major celebrities, and oligarchs who milked us dry for decades.
-She is also supported by a woman named Loida, a Filipino-American billionaire, a democrat and an associate of Hillary.
-International news outlet like BBC and tv host like John Oliver joined the bandwagon of ganging up on him (Marcos), they started fear-mongering stating the economy will collapse if he wins.
-They are now blaming misinformation and Cambridge Analytica for his rise (Marcos) to presidency. LOL
-The treatment he is getting from the establishment is the same how they treat Trump, Bolsonaro and Le Pen.
It's either we dodged a bullet by not electing the pink lady or f'ed either way. Time will tell.
Almost like a Deja Vu!
Good summary.
Just one look at the top 20 "Dictators Son" listings on Google tells you these are the exact same rats who attempted to destroy Trump.
WaPo NYT WSJ BBC CNN etc etc etc
If only these millennials would learn to think for themselves instead of blindly following basketball players and TV actresses
In closing, we should never forget BBM was educated in Oxford. A stronghold for the Satanists. Time will tell............
Now that it's clear that a Marcos is returning to power, the mainstream news all around the world is currently running a doomsday scenario stories on us, that's why I'm hoping he is one of the "good guy", but I'm also wary for the reason you stated.
Fortunately for us, it seems that no one listened to these smug celebrities who endorsed the pink lady. I went to some official pages of these celebrities and their comment sections are filled with schadenfreude from "trolls". Rofl
The enquirer is a fake news outlet for one.
Secondly, Marcos was robbed and cheated by Robredo in 2016.
He has the power. the money and the connections to ensure there wasn't going to be a repeat. Let us not also forget that the current presidents daughter, Sara Duterte was Marcos' running mate for VP, so in his interest to assist Marcos ensure a fair election.
My suspicion is that very much like the 2016 Trump v Clinton, the cheating apparatus was systematically destroyed.
Robredo was not supposed to lose!
Today, multiple issues regarding the elections have come up. Vote-Counting Machines (VCMs) “malfunctioning”, SD cards missing, people getting PAID for voting for the dictator’s son and his party, and more. Even the commission in charge of ENSURING FAIR ELECTIONS is failing to fully understand the grasp said issues, wasting people’s time and votes.

This is all incredibly helpful information; thank you for sharing.
I thought Smartmatic was mentioned previously in terms of the Philippines being controlled as well; glad to hear that maybe it isn’t the case anymore.
