Went in to my Cardioligist appointment today. When I checked in I was given a mask and told the girl I only wear them under my chin. She chuckled and said she understood. When I was taken into the examination room, the assistant said I need to put my mask over my nose. I said I don’t wear it there and if they didn’t like it they can kick me out. He nodded and pointed to the door. When I was in four months ago, there wasn’t this issue.

Last year, my 95-year-old grandmother was dying of heart failure. She was end-stage for a few months, but was able to get to her cardiologist's office a couple of times before she died. At those visits, they forced her to wear the mask over her nose and mouth, despite the fact that she was barely able to breathe on her own and was almost on hospice care at that point. My mother wanted to kill those doctors and nurses, but...science.
I’m really sorry she had to go through that. So sad.
Yup, they made me wear a mask while I was in labor and during delivery of my baby.
Also, that is beyond fucked up.
Thank you, sister. Yes, it was. Also, I cannot imagine giving birth while wearing a mask. THAT is every bit as insane.
It was an opportunity to increase in sainthood!
It wasn't all bad at all. I was blessed with after-care nurses who told me I could take the mask off and stayed to tell me how they were being pressured to take the vaccine and on account of that, were leaving their jobs at the hospital. Then I was blessed even further with a pediatric team who respects our choice to not vaccinate both at birth and during the school years so we have all the exemptions we need.
