I hear you. I had to supplement with formula to make sure my triplets were getting fed well. I know there is a place for it, but I still feel breastfeeding should be touted as the best thing for a baby. Everyone, especially moms should be given the proper human diet to help them have the best chance at providing for their baby. The standard American diet is the worst thing for anyone, especially moms.
