Twitter has a secret lover already called the name of SEC helping to perpetrate this lie. They have intentionally looked the other way for years allowing blatant fraud on their stockholders and the Twitter users that get constantly abused and reputations destroyed by fake bots.
How does the SEC deal with Musk on this?
If they let Musk continue, he will destroy Twitter and run its stock into the ground by exposing the "Truth" about the bots.
There is also the $1 Billion out clause Musk can use under a few circumstances. Fraud being one...
If the SEC tries to force Musk to pay the full price with the blatant fraud, I think it exposes them greatly. I can't imagine that there isn't already enough evidence to tie the whole thing up in court for a long time.
there is more going on here than that...

Who gets exposed more in court? Twitter or Musk?
time. they're playing delaying tactics as much as possible - not that it's working very well.
they no longer have a plan - it's all gone to shit - stall...stall...stall
