Fuck it I'll say it, the government didn't kill Jesus for sedition or treason. The Jews killed him for heresy. Pontius Pilot washed his hands because he didn't want to kill Jesus. The mob so wanted to kill Jesus they even traded the life of Barabas an already convicted murderer. Do not misappropriate blame, the Romans didn't care that Jesus said he was the son of God or that he performed miracles. Jesus even taught to give the government their shekels, the Romans had no issue with that.
