Lost a man today. He hit the bridge by my place and rolled over. His engine caught fire. I ran out and grabbed two extinguishers and my wife a third but we couldn’t get the fire out. Someone else tried to smash the window to get the guy out because the doors wouldn’t open but couldn’t. I ran back to the house for a sledge hammer and another extinguisher and started hearing him screaming. By the time I made it back the screaming stopped and it was too late, the gas tank caught fire and that was it.
Things happen fast, you do what you can but in the end you’re sometimes never prepared enough. So prepare as much as you can while you can and pray for the best.
You, you're wife and that other man are heroes and patriots. God bless you and God rest that mans soul.
I’m so sorry, you all tried so hard God bless you all, may he Rest In Peace.
What a traumatic experience to go through. My thoughts and prayers go to the victim and his family - and also to you and your wife (and other Good Samaritans). You did all you could do for that person. I pray that gives you some comfort. I’m so sorry…
My son fixed up an old car to run in a smash up derby, but he left the glass in the car. At the track the guys showed him that an old spark plug tapped against the glass breaks it 1st time. God bless you guys for trying to help, it shows your good people, a lot of people would not they would just stand by and video it.
Why wouldn’t you break a window with the fire extinguisher in your hand? Who gets a sledge for a window? What the fuck is this post.
Figured I could find a compilation video of all the police and others trying and failing to break car windows, alas that video doesn't yet exist. Suffice it to say I've seen dozens of Strong Men using hammers, mag lights, metal batons and even tools specifically designed for breaking car windows fail over and over again, and they weren't under the stress of having the car on fire while trying to do it.

Only thing I've seen reliably break windows is a sledge.
