Paul Findley wrote a book that includes this incident, "They Dare to Speak Out".

Our shameful, corrupt politicians covered up this barbaric attack on the USS Liberty. I can only hope that, in the future, it will be taught in history classes.

The two comments on the bottom of this are pretty interesting also, implying President Johnson wanted the Liberty to sink to drop mega bombs on Egypt. News to me. Veracity? Unclear.
