It takes a minimum number of people to switch reality - a quorum of people must believe that a specific reality exists in order for it to exist for everyone. We have to make that switch. Convince as many people as possible.

Every time society got close to figuring this out, they were subjected to a mass extinction event. So we need to make sure we include that scenario in our consciousness so the Wipeout part doesn't happen.
