I live adjacent to a very blue county, the day Biden took office they shut down their coal power plant. They have a huge stock pile of coal sitting their not getting used. They built a ridiculous "biomass" power plant about 10 years ago for $600 million (tax payer $$) - it is a county of about 250k people, this was such a scam - they have the most expensive electricity around... glad we moved to a different (red) county. I am sure the local Politians that voted for it all got their pockets lined....
They had been still using the coal plant to supplement the biomass plant because it has been nothing but problems. It only takes chipped up trees (like 40 18-wheeler loads per day) - it can not use your everyday yard debris - they have to keep cutting down trees to run it. They are shipping trees from different states to run the thing (lol, so green!) It takes an act of congress to be allowed to cut down a tree in that county, but their only source of power now, is chipped up trees (LOL).
And we worked on the project, it was supposed to be completely run on tree debris - but we laid out the natural gas pipeline that runs to it - so that was a lie too!
Anyway, not directly related to gas/fuel... but his administration is hurting the county in other ways as well.... switching to "green" energy only, is why Texas got so much damage in the previous winter.
