Star Trek Q's big medal with the ram on it made me curious, so I looked it up. It's the Order of the Golden Fleece, a Catholic chivalry order from 1430. There's some debate over its pagan origins. There are two wings of the order, Spanish and Austrian. There are currently 17 living members of the Spanish branch, Queen Elizabeth II being one of them.
