Looking to move to the US and join the US military in some form or another. Is there any process I can use that can allow me to do this as the US army site isn't one bit helpful and don't get me started on the USCIS page...

In order to join the US Military as a non-US citizen, you must be a permanent resident with a green card (resident alien identification).
If you're not at that point yet, that's all you need to focus on. Once you've got your green card, talk to any military recruiter for the next steps. You'll be limited as to which MOSes you'll be eligible for, and you can only be enlisted.
Best green card to get and the requirements?
There’s only one green card (that is a nickname… because it’s green). It’s the Resident Alien ID, which identifies you as a permanent, legal alien resident.
You’ll need to speak with an immigration attorney to advise you how to get permanent resident status. You’ll likely need to wait years, as our legal immigration system is pretty worthless.
If I get a permanent work visa. What are the main obstacles?
