I always thought they called it QAnon to bury the search results of the boards, etc. Make it hard for normies to go out and find the Q drops because they would just call it the wrong thing.

To be fair, it's difficult to perform a search engine query on one letter. Nintendo made this mistake many years ago when they teased the video game "Xenoblade Chronicles X" as just "X". Pain in the ass to market it on a search engine.
