If you subscribe to the Gods as extra terrestrial beings who came to Earth a long time ago and colonised it, then various Gods represent various factions of these ETs. There is a good case to be made that Moon is an artificial structure placed in orbit to watch over us. Its possible that Islam was created by the commander of Moon.
