Russia is going to have bigger problems than just a mine they operate on a remote Arctic island. Russia is threatening conflicts with Turkey in Syria, now that Turkey 'green lighted' Norway and Finland to joining NATO.
This would start an entirely new direct war for Russia, and they would be virtually surrounded. Turkey is not a nation to mess with. They would shut down all Russian ship traffic between the Aegean Sea and the Black Sea.
Norway, Denmark and Finland can effectively shut down all access between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
The only reason I can see the Western nations pushing Russia so hard... is if NATO (or the U.S.) has hidden technology that can immediately deactivate any nuclear missiles that Russia may try to launch. Imagine THEIR surprise!
There is no surprise—it’s being broadcast for everyone to hear but unfortunately to many, or most, are just caught up with the noise. The BRICS nations will be swapping out the Petro Dollar for the Chinese digital Yuan. Saudi Arabia will follow suit with Nigeria (2nd largest exporter of oil in N Africa) and start trading oil in the Yuan and maybe petro dollars (either way it would crush the US dollar). Russia and China recently signed Defense Protection agreements with Saudi Arabia (remember Q saying SA?) which allows the Saudis to stop relying on the U.S. dollar as the Tier 1 currency in exchange for Defense Protection. Putin made a speech a few days ago stating the coming BRICS currency that is backed by Gold (Chinese digital Yuan). Hope it doesn’t happen but I see no way out of this mess the Biden Admin and European Union has caused with these sanctions.
