It saddens me that this holiday has been reduced to "happy 4th of July".
Does that have any meaning other than a day off and barbeques?
Where is the American Spirit of Freedom in "happy 4th"?
Where is the Strength in "happy 4th"?
Where is the Resistance to a Totalitarian regime in "happy 4th"?
Now try saying "Happy Independence Day".
I know it doesn't roll off the tongue but it sure has a better feel to it.
Happy Independence Day!
I've been saying happy independence day all my life and have been oblivious that people say happy 4th instead.
Though I have noticed more people saying, may the 4th be with you as a joke
