J.P. Morgan Chase acquired Bear Stearns. But claims that it was a huge mistake because of the billions they lost closing out failed trades and litigation that bear stearns was involved in as a result of the financial crisis.
I remember Chase taking bailout funds despite not needing them. Maybe I am wrong on this recollection. But I wonder if the acquisition of Washington Mutual was the payoff for all of this...pure speculation and I have no real understanding of that entire purchase.
