No fren, it's because they suppress the truth in unrighteousness, meaning they love their sin so they push down the evidence of God in order to carry on the sinful desires of their heart.

Romans 1:18-19, " 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them."

People are either slaves of sin, or slaves of righteousness, so they will be controlled by one or the other.
