Correlation does not necessarily imply causation and there are now a host of chemicals in our food and our environment. The huge increase in the amount of glyphosate applied to GE food and feed crops has significantly increased our exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals. In a previous article, correlations were shown between glyphosate use, GMO crop increase and: thyroid cancer, liver cancer, obesity, high blood pressure, acute kidney injury, incidence and prevalence of diabetes and end stage renal disease. All of these diseases and disorders were carefully chosen based on:
1 Glyphosate is a known endocrine disruptor.
Endocrine disruptors can cause organ and neurological damage.
Roundup™ and GMOs have shown liver and kidney damage and abnormal behavior in rat studies.
Use of glyphosate on herbicide-resistant crops has skyrocketed since 1995.
Incidence, prevalence and deaths due to these diseases has also skyrocketed since 1995.
It seems improbable that the correlations in the nine graphs of glyphosates and organ disease, and the three presented here (for a total of 12), can all be coincidence. There has been a trend among the agricultural and food industries and their regulators to engage in practices that place the consumers at risk, emerging in the mid-1990s and growing. It involves not just GMOs but many other things as well and those factors may may be correlated with each other. That may make it impossible to separate out which one caused a particular effect. Much more research needs to be done. Our children are disturbed and our elders are dying horribly.
As a user of glyphosate for the last 40 year my use has dropped to almost nothing in my corn and bean crops. Resistant weeds have flourished and now absorb my focus from other chemistries of herbicides. Plus the cost for glyphosate has went up 4X because of the shortage of phosphoric acid.
glyphosate is the world’s most used herbicide. Recent studies show the herbicide’s use has risen almost 15-fold since the introduction of “Roundup-Ready” genetically engineered crops in the 90’s.
In a latest report by Zion Market Research the global glyphosate market was valued at $7.24 billion in 2017 and is expected to reach $10.88 billion in 2024, a growth of 6.2% between 2018 and 2024.
What concerns me is all the conflicts of interest and the failure to report these by media or politicians despite being filed in courts as genuine government and industry documents showing conflicts with I believe people going to prison for their part in the health fraud including fake testing companies set up and funded by industry
The “Poison Papers” represent a vast trove of rediscovered chemical industry and regulatory agency documents and correspondence stretching back to the 1920s. Taken as a whole, the papers show that both industry and regulators understood the extraordinary toxicity of many chemical products and worked together to conceal this information from the public and the press. These papers will transform our understanding of the hazards posed by certain chemicals on the market and the fraudulence of some of the regulatory processes relied upon to protect human health and the environment.
