I don't think so. The new CEO has adopted pirate memes amid the battle against the financial establishment (hedge funds which tried shorting Gamestop into bankruptcy). The biggest offender is Citadel / Ken Griffin. Fun homework assignment - you can find a clip of Trump talking about Ken Griffin "hiding his money". I think GME is part of "the plan".

Best speculation Ive seen is along the lines of "pirates take over the open sea".
