In 1994 former President Carter was able to step in and ease tensions with N Korea. Might something similar happen here when people are all terrified of Russia or N Korea nuking us and then lo and behold, our great President Trump steps in to save the day and deescalate everything? Optics are everything. Putin handed the soccer ball to Trump.
