Thats not new. I heard about this over a year ago. Remember when they used to swab inside the cheek then switched to nose. There was research on the swabs back then showing burrs in the fibers.

This being the highly contagious virus you can get by just passing within 6' of a person, requires an invasive nasal swab to confirm infection.
