Conviction is like sunny weather. It comes and goes. It can also pop up in unexpected places unexpected times. I have leftist friends I abandoned when in the heat of things I assumed, "This person will never get it and is dangerous. Would I shoot this person in a civil war? Sadly, yes. And if it comes to them or the Republic I will have to." Then, after I departed awhile and left that person to his own devices, guess who later showed up with sudden unexpected contacts or money? And said, begrudgingly, "You know, I didn't believe you at first, and I'm still not sure I believe everything, okay now, but (insert anecdotal story where something serious happened to leftist and/or his family that affected him personally, usually financially or medically), and now I don't care, look, I don't care for either side, both are crazy (they always say this), but here, do what you need with this, and..... well.... I never thought I would say this, uh, but.... God Bless America."

Lol. One such friend, a hardcore, formerly mask wearing and vaccinated leftist, now eagerly searches out patriotic music online and sends me links, and sends links to USAF fighter jets, with emails that say, "I know this isn't me! But I get such a rush seeing this! Is this.. testosterone finally?" I said back in his case, "Yeah but it's patriotism. Come on, admit it, it's a good country, isn't it?" It took me four years of gentle nudges and steady fact sharing, but a week ago, this former leftist atheist friend finally said... "Yes. Yes, Impeach, it is. I love this country." I almost cried reading this.

Be cautious, don't trust, always verify, and give leftists your distance, but do not give up on God's truth or your nation's truth, and keep gently, kindly whittling. Always add departures, privacy and silence. Let the Holy Spirit (whom I think it is) counsel and convict them. It's not our department. It's Jesus's and God's, and His. Let em do it. Sometimes, (but don't count on or rely on this), that weird leftist can surprise you. Btw, same leftist decided to come to Jesus.
